User Guides for Android Apps.

Hi,
I have just bought a Mororola Defy Smart Phone, so I am new to Android and its Apps. As with all new smart phones it comes preloaded with apps.

How/Where do I find/get user guides for these apps - I am just trying by trial & error to work out how they work.

Specifically, I am having a problem working out how the Radio works in the Music app. I can tune in to a station, but cannot work out how to turn it off, when I wan to watch live TV. Also, how do I set/change and use the Radio Pre-sets.

Any/all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Anything loaded into the phone should be covered in the phone's user manual.

As far as other apps, I have used over 200 apps in the past year, and have only had to have instructions for one: Tasker (which can be found online). Are there particular apps you are having trouble with? Again, most apps are very simple to understand, as they are built for touchscreens.

Specifically, I am having a problem working out how the Radio works in the Music app. I can tune in to a station, but cannot work out how to turn it off,

To turn it off, you can unplug the headphones, or exit the app like you do any other app, just hit the Back key a few times, or the home key.

Thank you for your prompt response.
That may be the answer - while listening to radio, I switched to live breakfast TV, but had both audio coming through. I'll try again and unplug the headset in between.
My other problem is trying to set radio station presets, and how to switch between them. I'll have to go to the Motorola site and look for a detail user guide, as the mini guide that comes with the phone, is pretty useless.

Thanks again for your help.

John

Try searching for Android User Guide on google's site. It will help you with the stock Android apps at least. Won't help with anything Motorola has added though.

Hopefully you've found your answer. I'm new to Android also and I've found with most, but not all apps if you scroll down toward the bottom (on the Adroid Market page) there is often a website link/listing where you can find user guide info.

Thank you all for your input - hasn't solved my problem I'm afraid.

As suggested, with the FM radio on, I have:
  • Hit the back key several times, with no effect - radio is still on.
  • Hit the Home key - no effect.
  • Unpugged the earpieces - no effect - when I replug the earpieces the radio is still playing.
It's a pain in the butt, as I can't switch to watching a TV channel - both audios then come through. I also can't work out how to switch between channel presets. I'll continue searching for an answer.

Anybody else got any ideas. Thanks in advance!

There is a forum specific to your phone on this forum ... if you go to the home page "android forums" and scroll down you should see the phone list. People there should be a great help to you. And yes .. the full user manual for your phone will be online as they are too big to pack into the box with the product.

I know in the Desire HD there is no "off" as such for the radio app; you just pull out the headphones or press "back".

Thank you Goreygirl - I've been to Gorey & Blessington many times (I'm from Skibbereen).
I have tried all suggestions so far, with no luck, including looking through the Android online manual. After much searching I did find something on FM Radio, but the app depicted is not the one I have on my Defy.
I'll try the specific forum option you suggested.
Thanks again,

John
