Using an MBB sim on an android phone (t-mobile)

So i recently purchased a t-mobile mobile broadband device while on vacation, but now at home really dont have much use for it (until I'm away from home again), save for the fact that I have an old t-mobile phone that I would like to try using it with, to use my leftover data. Mostly just for the sake of having the spare data around while I'm out and about. I've been trying to figure out how to get the sim to work in the phone to no avail as of now. I was mostly curious as to if this is even possible, and if so would I need to root my phone? Thank you in advance! :)

I don't think that rooting your device will help at all. Unfortunately, I don't have any positive advice. It sounds like t-mobile may have somehow locked the sim to your device. I wish I could tell you more, but I don't believe that rooting your device will help.
