Using Android Device with xamp

Good Day.I have been wanting to try my application on a real device.It works fine on an emulator, but when I try it with a real device, it does not work.Can I please have a tutorial on how to connect an application with xamp.I tried tethering but it does not work.What can I do, Am I missing anything?
