using Android phone/tablet as 'slave' display??

Hi, I wasn't too sure of where to post this, since it's not a device-specific question, but I hope you guys can help me out.

I need to setup a wireless security system that uses a CCD camera, but instead of having to buy a display monitor, I'm wondering if I can use an AV to HDMI adapter and stream the video feed on my Nexus 7 with some sort of 3rd party video player app.

Anybody know if this can be done?

Hey S pen,
The nexus 7 tab can certainly be used to give its output on a screen via HDMI link, but the concept of taking the input on the tab and using it as a screen seems to be impossible without hardware exploitation.
