Has anyone tried this? I know if it works it would only be vga quality but was wondering if anyone's tried this with success?

The Galaxy S could do it, but the facility was removed in the S2. I'd be very surprised if it's back for the S3, which is a shame because i found it very useful. I was able to runn a few ppt presentations from my SGS when work laptops failed, using a three way AV splitter from the SGS headphone Jack.

Yeah.. I'm finding micro usb to hdmi, or any other video output nearly impossible to find in retail stores.. it's quite shocking that their so hard to find. Would've been nice if Samsung included a mini sub port or provided an adaptor like they've done in the past.

Ahh.. one of the very few negatives I've encountered with this device. But damn, I still love it. lol

Yeah, I have a headphone jack>rca that came with my Nokia n95 wayyy back in the day lol.. just wanted to confirm before I go digging to find it.. if I find it and test it, I'll let everyone know

headphone jack for video? what?

Yes it's been a source for tv-out for many devices for awhile. But the device has to support it.
It's actually not too bad as far as quality all things considered.. dvd quality out of a headphone jack, who would've thought!!
