Using LAN Connection in Android-x86

I installed Android-x86 8.1 on an IBM ThinkPad and it works great so far. It uses WiFi connection. Is it possible to using LAN connection instead? How to set it up? Thanks. Ian

I am a Windows professional and know how to SETUP Windows machine connecting to LAN.
I need to know how to SETUP Android-x86 machine connecting to LAN if possible. Thanks

Does your Android x86 build include drivers and support for the LAN hardware in your Thinkpad laptop? If it doesn't, you may need to find or compile a custom build that does.

Android usually has to be built to support a particular device and/or hardware configuration

I've had no problems using Android X86-64 on a Dell laptop, I've not tried using cable connection to my router though. WiFi works just fine. And the touchpad allows decent navigation even without the slightly flakey taskbar that Android X86 tries hard to provide.
