Ok... so I'm going on my hols on monday and really wanted to take my magic for emergencies(and to play fun towers!! heh) and I called Vodafone who very nicely in formed me that any data I use will cost me
With the box unticked you will not use any data whilst abroad. Remember you have wifi on the Magic, that's what I use when overseas, most hotels, bars, coffee shops have free wifi so you can get data connections quite easily whilst travelling.
