If I have a metropcs sim card, could I use that on my sister tmobile phone because tmobile and metropcs are together?

Yes but you would have to unlock yours to use on T-Mobile. After you put the soon in call *228 and tell them what they need to know then you can use it.

If you have a Metropcs cdma sim you can't use it with any other phone, but if you have a Metropcs byod sim then yes you can, but you have to call Metropcs to get your sister T-Mobile phone imei in metropcs system.

Although it doesnt pertain to the original post, a Metro CDMA UICC will work in other Metro CDMA phones.

Also if it was a metro uicc card the device is already unlocked you just need the Ril patch to connect from CDMA to gsm if it is compatible some can and some can't

When I had my lg esteem back in the day, I couldn't use that specific uicc card with any other phone. Without that uicc card I couldn't use the phone either. I know that later Metropcs started making different uicc cards so they could work with other CDMA phones, but most of the time there were problems.

So, if I have an iPhone 4 with an active BYOD GSM card, could I simply swap it to a MPCS branded GSM phone (Huawei Valiant) and have it work *without* having to call Metro?

Every time I used an iPhone I felt like an idiot because I had no idea what I was doing

Yeah I don't get the argument of it just works when most of the time there is more steps required to do what android does out of the box. Plus the one button for everything is aggravating

I can't stand not having a back button. For a while, we had a 4th gen iPod that was given to us for Christmas. I couldn't stand that single button. It had since been dropped one too many times and the screen was shattered. We had a case for it, but little hands wouldn't leave it alone and it was picked apart, so provided no protection for the iPod.

Yes I personally think the unibody design is inherently flawed. It combined with the stiff metal has no give. I have dropped my old S3 more times than I can remember and worse things that happened was the battery cover popped off. It being plastic and having a removable battery give the shock of the fall a place to go with out cracking the screen.

Anyway back to the OP yeah like is was said before just take it to a store or call it will work.
