Using only Wifi on prepaid phone,

Hey I was thinking of buying a pre paid Android phone off T-mobile.com. I already have a prepaid account with T-Mobile. I just wanted to know if I could just use my Wifi, without having to purchase a data plan.

This is a big purchase, I just want to make sure, thanks.

Their prepaid plans are on their site. I think they all include data but you could always go with the $50 plan that gives you unlimited everything with 100mb data at high speed. They throttle you after that but if your looking for unlimited talk and text you won't get much cheaper than $50 anyway.

Ah yes I have heard of this plan, but I don't use the phone that much anyway. I would rather just buy 1000 minutes for a year and be done with it.

If thats the case you should be able to just buy the 1000 minutes for $100 bucks and use it with a smartphone. Keep in mind though if you do this that it will cost you 10 cent per minute, and 10 cents per text. If you text a decent amount the $30 plan would still save you some money. If not, the the $100 up front would be great for you.
