Help Using Orange SIM in unbranded Galaxy S3

OK, so i'm currently using an Orange SIM in my unbranded Samsung Jet (from CPW) but plan to buy an unbranded Galaxy S3 from CPW as soon as the blue comes back into stock... Can anyone tell me... if I put an Orange SIM in the S3 will it affect the phone at all, i.e. will it disable the 'check for updates' option in settings? Or is that only happening with contracted Orange phones cos they've messed with the actual software in the phone?

I'm probably being overly cautious as my current Orange SIM has never affected my Jet and I just have an Orange Plus option in my menu to access my account, etc but i'd like to be 100% certain before purchasing such an expensive phone.
 
The check for updates issue is in the orange software which the phone wont have. The SIM has nothing to do with where the software is updated from. Its the software.

for example.

Vodafone galaxy with Orange SIM, updates are from vodafone
Orange phone with Vodafone SIM, updates are from Orange
 
mine is an unbranded CPW phone with an orange sim, Everything works as it should.:)

Don't forget you will need to change your SIM card to a Micro SIM Card.
I'd also get a Micro SIM Card Adapter as well so that you can use the Micro SIM in your Jet.
