Using phone as mobile hotspot is very inconsistent

paula

Lurker
I have both a Droid Maxx and Samsung 5 on Verizon. When I set up either phone as a mobile hotspot (I am using WPA as security) the majority of the time it is very slow and I get "this page cannot be displayed" when I try to go to pages I frequently use. if I persist it will eventually load the pages. I am currently on a 4G network with 4 bars.
I would appreciate any feedback as Verizon has been absolutely no help at all in trying to resolve this issue.

Welcome to AndroidForums.com paula. I don't tether much with VZW, but whenever I did it seemed like my connection was flaky. Anyway, I moved your question to the Verizon forum where other users should be able to lend som ideas.

Thanks for your response and for posting to the Verizon forum. Just to clarify I am not tethering...I am using Bluetooth.

Yea but bluetooth is a lot slower than wifi. Bluetooth also has a shorter range than wifi. I use the verizon hotspot (wifi) all the time with no issues.

I would try the wifi route vs the bluetooth.
