Using Phone as substitute Sound card

Hey folks, a short while back, my laptops sound card simply stopped working. I've been without sound for a while and it's bugging me. I was wondering whether there was a way to use my phone [ Samsung Galaxy S2 (AT&T) ] as a replacement for it.

If anyone could help me out on this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

As far as I know, no. It would probably take some kind of specially designed host app that would need to talk to a client on the Laptop side.

It may be better to just look into a standard Audio over USB solution, as that would show up in Windows as a selectable audio output with minimal hassle.

Audio over USB? i do have one of those cords. I tried plugging my phone into computer. Could only transfer files and charge my phone.

If you want to use your existing speakers, you want a USB sound card. look on EBay for 'USB Sound Card'. Or you can get some quite decent USB speakers from Logitech
