I was wondering if I use the phone without a SIM? I got the phone from a friend, but I'm giving it to my brother who comes home in a month, and I was wondering if I could just use it until then, just with Wifi and stuff. I'm not interested in using it with other carriers, but if you have to unlock it, that'd be ok (as long as I don't have to pay money). Any help would be great...

Without a SIM it should be fine.
Just pop it out and turn it on.
I think it does change something....like the lock screen or home screen, where it gives you the option to make an emergency call (to like 911)
That's the only option, to make an emergency call. It won't let you unlock the phone so I can use it.
