Help Using Spectrum as a mobile hotspot

I have my spectrum rooted and I would like to use it as a mobile hotspot with my tablet. How would I do this?

I have the spectrum - on original ROM and pay for the Hotspot feature.
Click on the hot spot icon in your apps - it will come up and allow configuration - so you can secure that connection.

Choose a WiFi Name - Mine is Verizon
Choose a password you can recall well.

Go to your tablet and configure it like you'd configure a wifi.

There is also apps on the market some other people may recommend I am not familiar with those.

Foxfi app, it's free and you don't have to pay for the hotspot feature. Install on your phone and when it's on the tablet will recognize it same as any other wifi network.

Get FoxFi and get the 'add on' for FoxFi. For some reason, I couldn't get any connections without also installing the add on for FoxFi. But once I did, it worked like a charm.

Is not the Wi-Fi tether free with the new Verizon plans? You may want to look into changing your plan

Wifi tether is an aftermarket app, mobile Hotspot is what verizon offers and it's not free.

I thought the "new" plans do not have a tether add-on, so either it is free, or they no longer offer support for it (just going by other posts on this forum, I have not looked into it)

I don't think they offer it, because my contract was recently renewed and I don't believe I was able to add that feature. I think they're pushing the jetpack and solo data plan.
