Using us cellular s3 on Verizon

I bought a us cellular branded galaxy s3 and noticed the 4g sim card was the same size and style as the one out of my DROID 4. I put it in and calls, texts, and data work fine. But it always says I'm roaming and never connects to Verizon 4g. I'm always on 3g and it acts like I'm connected to us cellular towers. But when I do an ip test, it shows Verizon wireless. Anyone know how I can make it connect to 4g and hopefully get the roaming icon to go away? I don't get charged for roaming anyway, but it'd be nice to get rid of the notification. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure if you will be able to connect to Verizon's LTE because it operates at a different radio frequencies than US Cellular. Verizon operates on the 700 MHz Band 13 spectrum while I believe US C operates on the 700 MHz Band 12 spectrum. As for the roaming, I'm guessing it have have something to do with the phone being locked to US Cellular, forcing it to read a compatible Verizon sim as roaming. It's either that or it needs a prl update. But I'm banking on the first possibility.

I called them and they said I won't get any roaming charges either way.. but yea it acts like it's connected to US Cellular towers.. although the ip says verizon. Almost like its connected to USC voice towers, and Verizon data towers. but us cellular almost has 4G here anyway.. do you think I'll be able to get 4G when US Cellular gets it here? or will it never connect? And what's a PRL update and how do you do it?
