Using VR Gear and Oculus on NON-SAMSUNG ROMs

Does anyone know if it's possible to install the VR gear software on a rooted S7 Edge? Where would I get the download? Or is there something similar?
Not rooted yet, because I use the headset a lot and don't want to lose this feature.
