Using weather bug short cut instead of widget save battery???

why does weather bug show up advanced task killer even inside the 6 hour time frame I set up for it to update.

Wondering If I use the weather bug short cut on my home screen and not the WB widget will that stop it from ever opening/updating unless I open it by tapping the short cut icon.

Well I think I answered my own question, I removed the WB widget icon from my home screen and replaced it with the WB short cut icon and the dam thing still shows up in my ATK running...I don't get it, I would have thought if you don't have the widget icon on a screen that it would never run, kind of looks like WB will run if its on your phone no matter what. I don't get it...
