There have been quite a few negative reviews that don't make sense to me either. Not just from the iPhone disciples. I don't pay much attention to the comparisons with other/old phones they like or used to have as that's usually user preference/what their friend said/or just familiar with ... and familiar is usually going to win because almost no one likes change. I wish them the best. Change works at a lower pace for them ... and that's just fine.
It's the negative reviews that have "user error" written all over the post that I don't like --- yet mostly end up with a smile - but in some cases I have outright laughed at;
There's the new user coming off one of the indestructible Flip-Phones - they're used to tossing that thing around with the carefree oblivion of a Pro Bowler and his bowling ball, but now they have an exposed glass lens that's bigger than the side-view mirror of their car and think it's the phone's fault the lens is cracked or broken when treating it like the old one .... and it's the phone's fault. LOLOL
Coming off an iPhone that was packed with apps that the phone automatically shut down ... now on Android, all their apps are open and their battery life is abysmal cause they didn't read the manual that teaches them how to shut down apps and monitor battery usage for optimum battery life.
Making changes to the phone with Launchers, Apps, and Mods that worked on a Sammy or iPhone or "_???__" - setting it up in the old way, which won't work 'quite right' on the new phone without some tweaking ... but blaming and chastising the new phone with the announcement it sucks and they're going "back to" what they are familiar with. This is when brand familiarity and designed simplicity are part of a successful company strategy ... I recognize it and appreciate the effort that goes into that companies long-term 'customer capture'.
... and this is the one that's going to piss off a few people as it really only applies to the V10 phone/forum ... those who were using a Smart Phone with a case on it, but read that the V10 has built a "Military Grade Accident Proof" screen, but piss and moan that the company mislead them when it falls off the table and the screen breaks as they didn't think it needed one.
It's almost as if they read the label "Military Grade" and thought, "Hey ... I neeeeeeed this phone as I'm always breaking mine and finally this is the "baby-proofing" I need in a phone!" Alas ... it breaks in a fall.
At the same time, I can almost hear all those who've been in the military and used any "Military Grade" equipment get a gut-busting laugh out of these posts. I laugh at these posts too. Nothing "Military Grade" is better than "Civilian Grade" ... in fact, Civilian's tend to be more abusive and less maintenance minded than our military personnel so in most cases, civilian grade has more protective elements in/on it.
And when a manufacturer is attempting to achieve a pre-determined standard ... and the manufacturer is the one doing the testing ... that test is certainly going to be stacked in favor of a result that will meet the standard. (BTW ... there is one running thread in another forum where it's obvious the person posting "gets it" and is making a complete joke out of his misfortune and the "Military Grade' label. If you read this ... Thank You for the laughs. )
... and I'm not applying all these to just the V10 reviewers ... these posts run rampant through every forum on every phone, especially when it first comes out. Not much anyone can do about it. I usually check in at night with a glass of something alcoholic and enjoy those posts ... as it makes me feel so much better about my ignorance when I read the threads of the Hacks, Bootloader Busters, and the Techie's that know every little codec in these phones. You guys are awesome!
Alas, there are those that fit in the above list that really do have legitimate problems for legitimate manufacturing, hardware or software failures. And in most cases it's easy to read their sincerity and exasperation is because of those failures. They know who they are and I really feel for your situation and hope you get remedy(s) quickly and justly!
Thanks for starting this thread ... and thanks to those that provide the laughs ...
