V30 a beautiful phone but...

I recently upgraded from an LG-G3 to an LG-V30 and I noticed some of my favorite things are gone. I like to make my gallery app take up most of a page on my home screen by making it into a 4-5 tile, I also like to set it as a picture that I look to give it some extra personality. But that beautiful purple edit button that pops up in the upper right hand corner of the app when I hold it down does not apear on the V30 like it does in the G3. Also the G3 had its own options for a black keyboard that I would like back. Plus the high contrast and black theme just arent black enough for me on the V30. The G3 had everything I ever wanted but I desperately needed the new hardware the V30 has.
I dont like using launchers I simply DO NOT trust them.
So how would I fix this issue?
I am paying this phone off through Verizon and I intend on keeping it for a long time so I would love to fully costomize it like i did with the G3's stock settings.
Below is a screen shot of how I have it set up in my G3. Notice that purple button in the top right corner?? I need that back desperately.

1. Look in widgets if there is one for the Gallery. Or a Photo frame widget. Or get one from the store.

2. There is a theme store I believe for the LG. So look for one that meets your needs.

3. You cannot add functionality to the stock launcher. It is what it is. The functionality you are looking for may be hidden somewhere or renamed. But most of the manufacturers now are stripping their launchers of what could be deemed as duplicative features (resizing the gallery app sounds like you just used a gallery widget for example).

There is no widget. I dug deep into this phone trust me. On the G3 I would just hold down on the app I wanted to fiddle with and then I would let go and the purple edit button would pop up. I would select it and it would bring me to a gallery where I could choose pre made app icons as pictured below. I would then chose what photo I wanted from stock or choose my own and then the next step was to resize it however I pleased as pictured last. I dont trust launchers mostly because I dont want my key strokes recorded, my activity closely monitored, or my camera hacked, which has been a problem with launchers and its also something people barely notice but if you look into it, its enough to stray from even the trusted nova launcher. It doesnt happen to everyone, but I just dont want that risk in my pocket especially considering where I work,

I'm sure you can understand. I wish I had the balls to figure out how to put the OS from a G3 into my V30 but I dont have the kind of knowledge or money to do that.

But you are trusting LG not to be doing those things on your phone? FWiW it was LG that got caught out with their smart-TVs spying on users.

It's not only launchers and device manufacturers of course. All depending on what else you've been installing, apps, games, utils, social networks used etc, it's quite possible that the Chinese govt could know everything about you.

(Then you're out of luck. And no you can't add the G3 features to the G6 without using a different launcher)
Can I for sure evn do that if I instal a launcher?

Nova launcher has a free version in the Play Store. Give it a try and deep dive into the settings. I think I saw something like you have setup on your G3 in one of the "Post your wallpaper" threads on othe devices.

Hang on, the purple edit button is still there. I think you are just using the wrong launcher settings. If you go to settings>display>home you should see the default LG launcher "Home".

Home has three modes, on where it throws all your apps on home screens is too iPhone-like and I couldn't get the icons to edit. Easy Home gives you different options for icons. But, Home and App Drawer work like you're used to. Long press the icon and the purple edit thing pops up briefly and if you select it you can change the icon.

The gallery has gone through so many iterations that I doubt that widget is there any more (I looked for it). There are a bazillion gallery widgets in the play store. I think you'll just have to find one that works for you the way you want.

Do you have those launcher choices? Maybe they did something silly with the V30. I know sometimes LG gets too inventive for their own good. That's what attracted me to the G6 ... minimal intrusion on Android and no nonsense features.

@Tayloranng, after being around for almost 80 years I have come to the conclusion that nothing in this world is totally secure. The best we can do with our phones is use common sense and, even then, they probably know all about us in China.

I don't know if a launcher would fix your issue but I too for a long time resisted Nova Launcher and now I cannot be without it.After trying to enable a few things that were for the paid apk I let go of the pennys and WoW where has it been all my life.
