V30 with 250 ohm impedance headphones?

Has anyone used the V30 with headphones that have similar impedance? Can V30 drive headphones with this much impedance? I'm looking at the Beyerdynamic DT 990 250 ohm heaphones.

Thanks!

Possibly not, you might need to use an outboard amplifier to drive sufficient power and volume into such a high impedance headphones. Those headphones are often used for studio monitoring and DJ use, rather than personal on-the-go listening I believe.

I'm exactly using the Beyerdynamic DT 990 250 ohm headphones. I like them. Sharp sound. The V30 drive them flawless... And they are very good with tidal...

Would love to know just how high up the v30 can go in driving power hungry cans.

There's is a small boutique style audio shop not too far from me that carries Audeze, Grado, Sony and KEF and a few others I believe. Looking forward to check if this will drive Grado GS1000e and PS500, as well as LCD - 2 ( Im guessing not LCD).

They sound good. Not great. I have a mid range set of Grado’s. I get MUCH better sound and volume out of my iPhone 6s. Add an Audioquest Dragonfly and I am selling my V30

Someone posted here that the LG music app will sound more full and louder using the hifi dac. Absolutely! But the feel/ sound is very harsh and not as full as the same track on my iPhone without my Audioquest amp. Honestly, I feel the Dac hype is bs now. The 6s has a better sound my Grado headphones than the hifi dac playing on the LG app.

If I can find a dongle or adapter to try my AQ Dragonfly on the V30 I will give it a fair shot.
That's very easy. Any USB-C to USB-A adapter will do. If you have a Dragonfly Red you should try USB Audio Player Pro with it to set the digital volume control properly - older/lower models with analogue control don't require this, though the choice of music player will still make a difference to how it is driven.

Thanks for the advice and I will give it a try. I’ve read those c to a adapters will not work for output?

Ok, ive deleted my previous post. Bought a 3.5mm adapter that I plug in first to LG V30 then my headphones. Sounds better and adequate volume. Put up against my iPhone 6s with and without Audioquest amp and the LG is superior. Took me hours of trials but LOVE the music playback!
