This thread is to discuss car mount solutions for the Nexus 7.

I'm planning on getting the Brodit holder when it becomes available. I eMailed ProClipUSA customer service and they said they will sell the Brodit holder for the Nexus 7 when it becomes available, but they do not list it on their website as of yet. It can be used with an offline sat nav such as Co-pilot. For that very reason I'm looking for a car holder that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Having the Nexus stuck to the windscreen obscures too much of the road.

Many folks have the ability to bring WiFi with them.

Anyone tried the Brodit? I had a couple of their passive holders, for first an Ipod Touch and then my Galaxy S3. Both scratched the unit, so I got rid. But this looks to be different, more pop-in than slide down, is that correct?

I have the Bracketron Grip-It and I use it with my phone. It's OK, but I would prefer a non-universal holder.

I took a little trip yesterday out to the Cape and found that I could put my Nexus 7 in the little cd storage compartment under the radio in my Scion xB. It holds it there sideways tight and flat so I can see the map as I drove. I also found out that tapping the locate icon twice changes the map orientation from North up to direction up.
