Verizon 30 day trial period reset?

I signed up with Verizon on Sept 9 (the day the Fascinate was released). I've had problems with my phone and got exchanged it for a new Fascinate on Oct 2. I'm still having problems and considering canceling my account altogether. I figured I had until Oct 8 (plus or minus a day). But I was talking to the Verizon last night as they were trying to troubleshoot my phone and the guy claimed that the 30 day trial period reset on Oct 2 and that I now have until Nov 1 (plus or minus a day) to cancel.

I didn't think that was the case. Should I believe him? I've searched and haven't found much on this. When I log into My Verizon, I now see that my contract ends on Oct 2, 2012, which makes it sound like my contract started on Oct 2, 2010 instead of Sept 9, 2010, so maybe he was right? Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

Essentially what you had was a 30-day warranty. If you exchange an item within those 30 days, you don't get the remainder of that warranty nor do you get another 30 days. This has been true for everything I've ever dealt with that has an x number of days warranty.

I'd assume that what is shown online is correct. If you still have doubts, call customer service and double-check.

I believe you were told wrong by the Verizon rep. If you started your account on September 9th, you would have 30 days from that date to cancel.
