Verizon and spam

Jfalls63

For the past year, I've received at least 4 or 5 spam calls a week. The top 3 want to "help me with my student loans", which I don't have, "help me with my business line of credit", that I don't have, and "my inquiry into health insurance", which I never did.
I switched back to Straight Talk from Verizon, kept my same number but using a AT&T compatible Sim and AT&T network, and to my surprise I have not received any spam calls since the change on 6 Oct.
Coincidence or conspiracy?

This is only a very tentative suggestion but if you haven't already registered your phone number with the Do Not Call registry, give some thought into doing so,
https://www.donotcall.gov/
It will only apply to restricting calls from legitimate businesses, and there are plenty of allowable exceptions, so it's not a very comprehensive solution:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Do_Not_Call_Registry#Exceptions_to_the_do-not-call_rule
but it does reduce at least some of those telemarketing calls. It's enforcement is done by the FTC but currently weakened by collaborating with the FCC, the now very pro-business/anti-consumer government body headed by Ajit Pai.

Go MetroPCS, 10 years and running !! Never had not one spam call but I have gotten calls from previous owners contacts connected with my new phone number. Message sorry I just bought this phone and this new number came with it so the person you're trying to contact no longer has this number.
