Root [Verizon] Another google wallet question

Android Expert
So is google wallet installer unable to restore build.prop? After switching ROM's I need to install wallet. I did. It worked fine... until I clicked on Restore Build.Prop within the installer app. Now when I open google wallet I get a message stating that my device is unsupported! What? Never had this problem before! Any ideas? Thanks:)

Interesting. Why not use your nandroid manager, browse & locate the build prop file from your last backup, & replace your current build prop file with that one(backup the current one first of course).

The build.prop file is located @ /system/build.prop.

Yeah, I've done that however now I can't get Wallet to get past the PIN. It keeps wanting me to re-enter...:(

Hmmm . . . Possible rom/installer issue ??? Assuming it worked fine on CleanRom. Interesting. I assume you already tried re-installing the app & intaller . . .

What if you use root explorer to manually change your build.prop back to this temporarily, reboot and sign into wallet:
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro

Then, after getting wallet functioning as desired, go back into root explorer, and manually change it back to:
ro.product.model=SCH-I535
ro.product.name=d2vzw
ro.product.device=d2vzw

and reboot.

Edit: long ago, my secure element got borked and I cannot install wallet **sigh** I miss wallet :(

Wondering if Google security has me locked out because I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled so many times?:confused:

Another tidbit... The Wallet Installer icon shows a 'crack' on the image. I've never noticed that until I started messing with this whole thing last night! Could that indicate it's broke? :confused:

hmmm, that is odd.
Howza bout a total reset of google wallet from the device and your google account website,...uninstall the installer, re download the installer and try it again?

That sounds like a good thing to try at this point! As far as resetting Wallet, I'm pretty sure I need to be *in* the app before I can do a reset. If I simply uninstall the app and google wallet installer app, would that be the same?

Well, not sure...but you couldn't access wallet after changing the build.prop to a Galaxy Nexus? Did you reboot after changing the build.prop?

Yes I did reboot...

I did uninstall the Wallet app as well as the installer app. I have dl'd the installer but haven't gotten any farther....yet :D

I'll keep the audience in suspenders - I mean, suspense - and will make a full report when I get back on it..:smokingsomb:

Thanks dk . . . So are you gonna do that first or fix your call log/dialer problem first . . . I bet if you go back to CleanRom - everything will be fixed. It seemed like it was more stable for you . . .

I already uninstalled the TouchPal Contacts/Dialer and when I did, the stock dialer was magically there! So, that issue is resolved as for as I'm concerned.

Now, for the 'problemo de jour' (:D) I'm gonna try reinstalling wallet from the beginning. Hoping it will work this time around - if not, I'll likely drop it for now.

You are correct when you say that CleanRom was stable for me, but I get tired of looking at the same ROM after a while JUST like I get tired of looking at the same steering wheel/dash panel of a car! When I get to that point, I'm ready to move on! My intentions are to keep a TW ROM and an AOSP ROM on the device and switch between them from time to time :)

OK, all goes peachy until I change the build.prop (manually) then i get a message that my device is not yet supported blah blah blah when trying to access Wallet :mad:

Gonna put 'er back together and say heck with Wallet until which time there is a more stable approach at installation. Thanks to all of you who have so graciously spent time out of your day(s) to see that another flash-a-holic gets his fix ;) :p I shall profit another day!

Wow . . . You remind me of me ! Although I wouldn't say that I get bored with things . . . Rather that I'm a tinker nut . . Meaning that I frequently want to tweak/mess with things. Oh . . . & btw . . . I can't help you with your steering wheel boredom other than to say maybe it's time for a new ride ;)
