Verizon Corporate store check question

I went to my local VZW store last Thursday and bought some accessories. I paid by check, but the check hasn't cleared yet. Is it normal for them to take this long? I'm super anal about my checking account, so it's weirding me out.

Any business who doesn't do e-check ( instant debit) generally deposits the check that night or the.next day. It is sent to their bank, processed and your bank is notified of the debit (check) and the money "changes hands" electronically. The process can take 3-7 business days even in today's fast paced world. If it's not out by the end of a week, have your bank hunt for the check.

Thanks. I know most places nowadays run checks electronically, so I was surprised that they didn't/haven't.
