Help Verizon - Developer Edition

Newbie
I had the 16GB Moto X before it took an unfortunate spill and left my screen completely fubar. I just received a 32GB Developer Edition in the mail today but I am unable to upgrade to Kit Kat (phone came with 4.2.2).

Whenever I go to About Phone > System Updates > I get:
"An unexpected error has occured. Please try again later"

How do I go about getting the latest firmware on this phone? Verizon tech support was worthless.

Thanks!

Were you able to resolve this? I just got my VZN DE and I'm getting the same error. Phone came with 4.2.2 as well.

Go to Motorola.com and download Motorola Device Manager. After it installs it checks your phone and installs to 4.4.2. Friday gave me the upgrade to 4.4.4. It might go straight to 4.4.4 now.

Well my phone just received an OTA update going from 139.10.53.ghost_verizon.verizon.en.us to 139.15.1.ghost_verizon.verizon.en.us. It still shows as Android version 4.2.2 though, so I'm not sure what all was in this update.

I tried the Motorola Device Manager method the other day and either I wasn't doing something right or it wouldn't take the update. I may try and see if this OTA fixed whatever issue was there before.

My phone just pulled the 140.45.en.US OTA (4.4) and installed, then immediately began downloading 164.55.2.en.US (4.4.2) and installed. It also downloaded 212.55.26.en.US (4.4.4) as well.

So I activated the phone on the 31st, received the first OTA on the 6th after not being able to manually download, and then the 3 KitKat updates today. It took a week, but it's finally up to date. :D
