*UPDATE* on Post #13

According to GizmoFusion, between May 20th and June 30th, Verizon is giving Early Upgrades to "high-value and high-risk" customers. Has anyone heard anything about this? Is it legit? I'd like to upgrade to the Incredible.

I didn't know about this and I don't think it applies to me. I upgraded back in March after a year. I have two other lines and neither are eligible either. The closest upgrade date I have is june 30.

Thanks for the info, though. Wish I could! :(

I saw this on Droid Life a few weeks ago and posted in a few forums about it. Even went to Verizon and inquired about it. No one knows anything. Leads me to believe it is a fake.

I'll be going to a Verizon corporate store on Tuesday. I guess I'll find out then whether it's BS or not.

I received a text message from Verizon about two weeks ago inviting me to upgrade early. This occurred right around the time that the EVO 4G was announcing the launch date for Sprint and the Incredible was launching for Verizon. I don't think the timing was coincidental.

With the potential of the EVO 4G and the pricing of Sprint (MUCH lower cost for a better plan than VZW) Verizon was too late - I've already ordered the EVO and will jump ship on June 4th.

I don't expect the same quality of network service, and I may regret the move, but I live in a 4G city so I'm going to give it a try.

Back to the original point - I was offered an early upgrade Verizon.

Could you give us some specifics like how far into your contract you were and what plan you had. Might help others figure out if they may be eligible.

Sure - I was less than one year into my current contract on a feature phone rather than a smartphone. Family plan with 1400 minutes.

But - as far as others figuring out if they're eligible, like I said Verizon sent me a text message so I'd say if you've gotten one you're eligible, if not then you probably aren't.

Point I was trying to make is there is some legit program out there for early upgrades.

Well I guess people who don't have a smart phone and are only facing a $175 ETF for jumping ship to may be considered high risk. High value I dunno what their criteria is for that.

UPDATE!!! Went to the verizon store today and upgraded myself and my wife to Droid Incredibles! Got em for the new contract price $299 - $100 rebate. Was no problem as long as I upgraded from a non-smartphone to a smartphone. I can't wait for them to show up. Backordered 3 weeks!

No other additional NE2 discount added on?

It seems like the "Promotion" is just a fancy way of saying annual upgrade. Isn't that normally how it works for the annual upgrade? You get a new contract price?

But hey if it worked, it worked. I'll probably give it a try myself.

I got a phone call a week or two ago about being able to upgrade. My contract isn't up till August, not sure if this is any earlier then normal. My account is associated with a Fortune 500 company, so that may have something to do with it. Also got a call after I told them my service sucked (poor audio quality) after I got the upgrade call. Going to find out how good Sprint is with the EVO.

My contract wasn't up until February 2011. everything worked out great. I can't WAIT to get my incredibles!!! My wife isn't even going to know what hit her. She doesn't really have a clue HOW capable these phones are. She's gonna be stoked when she starts using it.
