Verizon Galaxy S7 no MMS

Hello All,

I could use an assist.

I have a Galaxy S7 that I just brought over from Verizon, everything works except MMS. I can make calls, get on the internet, send SMS, just not Group Messages or Multi-Media Messages. I have changed the following:

APN: fast.metropcs.com
MMSC: https://metropcs.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc/
I have also tried http://metropcs.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc/

Everything else I have left as default (as instructed on various other sites).
I stopped using the Verizon Message+ app and moved to the Messages App.
I have also factory reset the phone then input the above settings again with the same results.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Also,it appears that I cannot get updates - I get the following error: "Sorry, we are having trouble authenticating your device. Try again later."

Probably because it's trying to ping Verizon for the update, with it being their version phone, and it doesn't have service with them. How can fix that, see about flashing generic non-carrier firmware, if that's possible for a Verizon version S7.

Thank you for the reply Mikedt! Do you think that would solve the issue I am having with group and multi-media messages (MMS) as well?

I have this issue on Metro and Tmobile.

Make sure the ipv6 is changed to ipv4 where it says APN protocol and APN roaming protocol.

Save your APN settings, reboot and try again.

This has worked for me on several phones (BYOD) to T-mobile and Metro where MMS did not work correctly.

[PARTIALLY SOLVED]
IPv4 is set and thanks for the advice.
Changing the APN Type to default, mms, supl fixed the MMS part, but I still cannot get updates. It says: "Sorry, we are having trouble authenticating your device. Try again later." and on the notification (lock screen) it says just "Service Unavailable"
Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I was just about to suggest "default,mms.supl". I've been through having to change that many times.

Mikedt is probably correct.

(Related note: It's a big reason why I never buy used Verizon phones even if they say they are unlocked. In this forum, I always see Verizon branded phones (unlocked) having issues on GSM networks)

Thank you for the reply. I will look into flashing the firmware and removing every last vestige of Verizon from this phone ... it will be a pleasure. I hate Verizon (HATE), but I won't go into that in here.
