[Verizon] Google Voice Mail redirect busted!

I don't get voice mails often, so when I got one today, I realized it was in my regular verizon voice mail box and *not* in my google voice mail box. When I setup Voice a few weeks ago, I went through the normal setup where you have to call some wierd number to get it authorized. Apparently that didn't work.

So just now, I signed out, re-signed in on the Voice app and went through setup again. This time, it said your carrier doesn't support Google Voice. Huh? This worked fine on my Droid X. In fact, I'm surprised I even had to re-authorize this as it has been working fine for 2 years.

Anyone else having the same issue? i.e. if someone calls your *verizon* number and leaves voicemail, is it going to your verizon voice mail box or good voice?

Never mind. Fixed it by following the manual setup instructions in the google voice help center. Clearly a bug on the S3.

Sorka.. I did not even have to change a thing on my migration from DX to S3. Same as you I have been using GV for years. I simply activated the S3 and installed GV. After I signed in it just worked. No calling no config no nothing. GV is tied to the number not the phone (with exception of installing the application).
