Root [Verizon] Lost Internet Connection after Root

Lurker
My I535 has the OTA 4.1.2. All was working. Had "successful" root using SuperSU_Bootloader_Fixed.zip, VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5, CWM6023TouchVZW.tar.md5, and VRBMB3, using Odin. All appeared fine; Superuser App said I was rooted. However, when attempting to connect to the internet, I get the following: "Authentication via the proxy server was unsuccessful". E-mail, Playstore, etc are also not connecting. The WiFi app seems happy, it sees my net, plus I have a 4g indicator. Mobile data is checked, network mode is CDMA/LTE?EVDO, and LTE-Verizon Internet is VZWINTERNET.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TALONTRAX,
Thanks for the suggestion. I walked away from my phone for a couple hours; returned to find e-mail had been downloaded!? The WiFi had been on during all this bruhaha, somehow blocking the 4g and while indicating a solid connection, no "real" connect. Seems it turns itself off when not in use, allowing the 4g to take over. Something within the WiFi settings apparently got changed and is blocking data transfer when under WiFi(it was working). Now have some idea as to what to attack; onward and upward. Any hints as to what/where I might find the errant settings?

Interesting . . . whenever I am somewhere where wifi is available (home, work) the wifi automatically connects to the wifi network. However, if I send a mms message while @ home & on wifi (wifi icon in the top scroolbar is on), the 4G icon pops on while transmitting/receiving txts or mms messaging, then goes off when finished. That tells me that the messaging app(s) need the mobile network to work. Maybe in your case you were connected to a wifi network but in a "dead zone" for your mobile network - ???

I'm getting too old for these "smart" phones! My memory is too short. An AD blocker I had downloaded, had me change my WiFi proxy setting to manual/localhost/2020. Since I'm no longer using that app, I needed to return the proxy setting to OFF in my WiFi settings. All good now; hopefully I'll stay out of trouble for a while as I learn the world of root.
