Verizon LTE Phone coming out soon?

Is there any word on any LTE phones coming out soon? I would like to get one that works with LTE in the future but would like to get a phone before the year ends.
 
What do you need a phone with speeds like that for? Will you tether it or use it as a Hot Spot? That level of speed would be greatly underutilized on a handset otherwise.
