Help Verizon message+ vs Textra

I have accepted the fact that MMS on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge sucks compared to iMessage.

I have tried Samsung, and Textra and just took another look at Verizon message+. I just assumed it sucked since it is Verizon but really seems to have some nice features. Is it just the red-headed stepchild of SMS?

Or have i just been slow to catch on?

I personally won't have anything to do with any of the Verizon message apps.

I am Textra all the way because it is totally configurable to what I need.
Textra can backup if you want, or use another backup app.

Textra can send a whole thread of SMS and MMS messages including pictures to your own email address to let you have an off phone backup under your own control.
