Verizon monitor employee lines?

Hello, I am an indirect agent for Verizon Wireless. one of the benifiets is cheap phones and plans. i just got the razr maxx through my discount program. since this is considered a verizon employee line, does verizon monitor what i do to my phone? I am interested in rooting my phone and developing apps for it as well. i heard that they monitor that kind of stuff and will shut you off if they catch it. anyone know about this?

My brief experience with store employees is that I've seen a lot of them have rooted phones (and custom ROMs). I'm skeptical with the amount of staff they have nationwide that they would take the time, money and effort to scan for their employees phones' usage. Perhaps if you're tethering a lot yes, but rooting, no.

I remember when I upgraded to the x, the sales rep showed me his og droid. He was running a custom Rom. It was Bugless beast.

To be honest, I'm pretty sure it would actually some effort on their part to actually be able to tell if your rooted. And AFAIK, Verizon couldn't give a damn about you rooting your phone. To them that just means they don't need to honor the warranty. Tethering, I would be wary about though.
