Is that the site?
what country and what carrier in the country will you be using the device in?
It's Cuba company is cubacel only one that they have I know weird but family's there. With that site it says the Verizon model only supports 850 there which is only available in 4 towns , however I need 900 in that town.
Thank you for all the help,
Anthony.

Hmm, yeah I see that now:

Well, I really want you to find an answer, so I'll tell ya what....let me move this thread where it can get more eyes, and then when it get's answered, I can move it back here so others can benefit. How does that sound?
I know I'm kinda kickin' your thread around, but this Moto E forum is a little on the slow side, but like I said, I'll move it back here once we get ya sorted:)

That's interesting, because the GSM 900 band is not usually used in the Americas AFAIK, that's why the Verizon phone doesn't have it, but then other hand with US trade embargoes and sanctions, Communist Cuba likely buys cellular infrastructure straight from Communist China.

Cuba is shown as GSM 900 only, no American GSM bands at all, ie 850 and 1900.

If the phone is from Verizon itself, I'd check with other Verizon users.

I have an unlocked phone and most unlocked like the Nexus have the same bands and will work if you can switch carrier.
If I check, I have both TMO and ATT, but I can only register on TMO since that's where my SIM is from.

Since V is CDMA, I'm not sure how they work it.

Verizon is CDMA carrier, but to give LTE data they are dependent on SIM as LTE is GSM technology.
Every new LTE phone is having Sim slot and also compatible with most of GSM bands. specifically Verizon they dont lock LTE part unlike Sprint .
So most of Verizon LTE phones works on GSM outside USA. few works with 2G data few even get 3G.

HTC Desire 612 is one VZW LTE phone that doesn't have GSM 2G modes. I know, because we had a post about it quite recently, trying to use it in Kenya, no chance.

Dont have htc 612 to test, but I have confirm report of its working on indian carrier CDMA ones.
Dont know about GSM as of now.
Will confirm if i get one in hand.
for cdma we use SIM unlock app which was used for htc m7 sprint.

As long as you got a CDMA network available, Europe doesn't use CDMA at all, and neither does Africa AFAIK. We have CDMA here in China, although I've never heard of anyone using an ex Verizon or Sprint phone from the US with it though.

No GSM or HSDPA, CDMA and LTE only.

I am surprised to read that you never seen vzm or Sprint devices used in china.
China is our main market to get these devices modified. Look on alibaba many sellers are selling non-sim vzm/Sprint devices converted to ruim .
Also one reason could be in china they have their own versions or USA models. Like htc m7 china was first to get dual sim CDMA+GSM device.
USA model was either gsm or global like spring m7(one sim)

All depends on the models, if they got GSM and WCDMA modes. Can buy a Verizon branded Droid Turbo on Taobao... and "Droid" series phones are exclusive to Verizon.

Which does have most required modes and bands for China, but will only will give 2G service with China Mobile though, the most popular carrier. because it doesn't have TD-SCDMA. However has it been modified or hacked, like to remove the useless Verizon bloat, and is unlocked, so it can be used with Chinese SIMs.

Taobao(Alibaba) doesn't list a HTC Desire 612 though, i.e. North American CDMA and LTE only, because that phone definitely would not work here in China, not even with Telecom, a CDMA network, as it doesn't have the Chinese CDMA bands AFAIK. Sure not going to easily modify it to add the appropriate bands or modes, because that's hardware.

FWIW I'm not Chinese, I'm a British expat, but I've been here for six years now. And the only phones I've seen in the wild that I can say have definitely come from the US, i.e. they have US carrier branding, bloat etc, are ones belonging to American expats or tourists.

Frankly the PRC has more than enough phones to go around, without having to import them from the US, especially considering that many of the things were made here in the first place. LOL. Often it's the other way around, frequent posts on this forum, "HELP! this phone doesn't have Google! I bought it cheap online from Alibaba."

Don't worry Moto E 2nd from Verizon definitely works on 900mhz, I am in India using Moto E LTE (2nd) from Verizon on Indian 900 and also on 1800mhz networks.
Works with 2G data.
Thank you for your reply. I really needed confirmation like this. Don't want to take a phone to a foreign country where it doesn't work. Now I can be more at ease. Thank you for all the help.
Anthony.

That's interesting. My phone on 5.0.2 worked fine on AT&T in the USA. Tried it just now against Airtel and Vodafone in Chennai and I don't get any network signal. Is your phone on 5.0.2 or 5.1?

There nothing specific to be done, just cut the sim and pop in.
*#*#4636#*#* and select wcdma/Lte
You are done.
Works on 5.1 too
