Verizon Moto X sale, $.01 with contract

I got in on this today ($53.01 for a 32 GB Moto X with tax/shipping). You need to go through the web site. If you call Verizon or go into a store, then the Verizon price is still $99.99 with a $50 rebate for the 16 GB model.

Verizon also has their Trade-in/Trade-up deal going on which guarantees $100 minimum trade-in gift card for any smart phone in good condition (my 3-year old phone normally qualifies for a $5 trade-in).
 
I don't think contract matters. I expect it is just the normal eligibility for an upgrade and making the commitment to a new two-year contract. Both the $0.01 sale on the Moto X and the Trade-in/Trade-up minimum $100 rebate are featured on the Verizon Wireless home page right now. The Moto X ad says it is only thru 2/22. There is no date on the Trade-in/Trade-up ad, but I was told by a CSR over the phone that is through the end of the month (I think the phone has to be activated by then).
