Just called Verizon since a few people in the Indianapolis area are buzzing on Twitter about a data outage. The lady I spoke with confirmed it is a national data outage they just became aware of 10-15 minutes ago. Her suggestion was to check your phone every hour or so.
I'm only reporting what the person at Verizon told me. Lots of reports on Twitter about it being national too. It probably doesn't have to be all states to be considered 'national.'
No 4G where I'm at but my Thunderbolt was Thunder-less since last night - 1X only, full bars.
Only way to get 3G working was to ##778#, edit mode, password 000000 and change the modem settings to CDMA "REV A" mode only. Hit the menu button to "commit changes" and the phone should reboot. When it comes back up you will have 3G access again.
I'm in the greater Bay Area (San Jose, CA) and we still dont have 4G LTE. However 3G has returned without having to edit your modem settings, so it is definitely apparent that Verizon is working on getting things back online. I'm hoping they work out the issues with the Thunderbolt and its inability to automatically select 3g service when LTE is down.
My 4g was back this morning when I woke up, but it is running so slow. I am getting 3g speeds on my lte connection. This better get fixed soon, I didn't buy a 4g phone for 3g speeds.
Anyone stuck in 1x now? I shut off 4G at midnight since I was leaving work and restarted, now I'm flat 1x no matter what :/ maybe its just me though I lost picture messaging 3 days ago too
