verizon nationwide 4g outage 10/16

6pm eastern data went dead. thought it was phone at first. wrong.
system wide network failure on 4g and interminent 3g data issues
5hrs without data was painful.
 
Not sure if my situation is related but I have no data right now (in a 3G area) and haven't had for the last couple of hours. Although I've had intermittent data issues like many others here, I've never had a problem with data here at home. This stinks and they need to get this fixed.
 
I'm in the midwest near Chicago and haven't noticed anything 3g wise. I don't have a 4g phone so I can't say anything about that.

I was reminded of a comedian talking about dependency over tv. He said growing up he had the weather channel. It was called the window.

I recently downloaded an augmented reality weather app and quickly became aware of it redundancy. It overlays live radar to your camera. I opened the app and noticed it was raining. Very useful cause I'd have otherwise never noticed the thunder or my wet clothes.

Dependency is inevitable but it's not so bad as long as you know other ways of doing something.
 
Hmm, so it wasn't just my Xoom acting weird last night. Xoom (with 4G upgrade) lost data connection but Droid2 and 3G MiFi still had data connections. Xoom was still out when I got up at 5:30 this morning but was back on 3G by the time I got out of the shower.
 
Went down in Texas yesterday afternoon for me somewhere along I10 outside of San Antonio. I had it up most of the way down from Houston. Got home and tried to send an email out and couldn't. That's when I noticed I had no network (4g) display.

I't now 730 CST and still nothing.....
 
is VZW good at giving you credit to your bill if you call and report these outages? i know sprint is (the carrier i'm considering leaving for the nexus/vigor).
 
I had the same thing happen to me last night. I kept restarting my phone and doing a battery pull. I thought my data was just gone because I had left my wifi on. I woke up this morning and it was back.
 
Had issues on 10/16 & right now on 10/18. Anybody else? Thank goodness for Wi-Fi
