Root [Verizon] No mobile network, but 4G data...wth?

Hey all...I've flashed many a ROM but never encountered this issue: I have a Verizon Galaxy S3 I535. I was running cyanmod 10.1 RC4 on it happily. While trying it out with my at&t micro-sim, I saw that I was unable to make it work on global or any other settings for that matter. I did the whole apn thing using apn manager as a sytem app, hiapn, phone info etc. Nothing worked. So, in case I had screwed things up I restored the apn's I had backed up, then uninstalled those apps and did a factory reset. When the phone re-booted with the veizon sim back in it, I had no data, no voice, nothing. I factory reset from recovery, re-booted and still had no data or phone, just a 'R' with a triangle outline. So I re-Odin-ed back to stock, and got 4G Lte data back, yay! But still no mobile network. In other words, when I go to make a call, a dialog pops up saying 'mobile network not available', and in the pull down status bar it says 'searching for network'. I have performed every reset option known to mankind, un-rooted, flashed back to stock, even took the new 'multi-window' update successfully, but no mobile network: data is great, but still can't get the other antenna to see the voice network...but it WILL make 911 calls. Anybody with thoughts or an idea of where I went wrong, and could help me fix this would be great...however, I got it primarily to be a mobile hotspot, and I have another phone with unlimited talk, so that's all good, but still not happy that I broke it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
(P.S. None of the other mobile networks settings available have done a thing, airplane mode on/off, etc.)

Welcome James,
I wonder if you have lost your IMEI.
Are you constantly roaming?
There used to be a link on XDA for repairing your IMEI with QPST, but for some reason it has been pulled.
How that works, I do not know, so I am of little help there, sorry:(

You said you are back to stock. You can try to bring it back to Verizon, but your trip counter may be 1 or more, indicating to Verizon that your phone has been rooted/modified at one point or another. Booting into download mode will tell you what your counter is at.

I am still trying to find a way to verify that your IMEI is gone.

This is a good read about backing up your IMEI before hand ..which is moot now.

I'm still looking around for ya:)

I experienced a similar issue, where i flashed a rom received 4g lte service but the phone would not make calls and i could not get phone service at all. I tried many methods and finally i got it working again. I reinstalled my original factory gs3 o.s. backup from right after rooting it, still the phone did not activate for calls, then what i did was the galaxy s3 reset from the phone dialer, i cant remember what it was but i googled it, the phone reset connected back to the network and it activated just fine, i thought at first i had burned out my sim card so i placed the sim on my backup moto droid razr all it worked just fine, i then reinstalled another rom on the gs3 and all is working till today.
