Root [Verizon] No Root Access

Ok . . . My phone : Galaxy S3 I535 Android v 4.1.1. Verizon (White) Purchased 11-24-12. Rooted it after owning it for all of 2 hours. Used the RootDebugFs w/superuser batch file method. Completed in 60-65 seconds. Had instant root access. Installed EZ-UNLOCK & unlocked the bootloader. Installed Rom Toolbox Pro & from there flashed TWRP 2.3.3.0 recovery. Been flawless. Been running Cleanrom 5.5.1 for 2 months - Awesome. Fast, stable, reliable, no issues @ all. Totally happy !
Wife`s phone : Galaxy S3 I535 Android v 4.1.1.Verizon (black) Purchased 12-10-12, put into service 12-26. Tried the RootDebugFs flash . . . n f g. Tried Odin w/cf-rootsgs3v6.3.tar . . . FAIL FAIL FAIL. My question is - Is it because this phone is newer & possibly has a software update in it`s memory that doesn`t allow these rooting methods to work ? Btw . . . of course I DID have usb debugging & outside sources enabled. Just won`t work. Am I missing something ?

Hmm, not sure but my phone was put into service just about the same time as your wifes and I had JB 4.1.1.

Yes. I tried several Odin flashes. No dice. This phone is not co-operating at all. Weird observation though . . .When I go into settings & put it into usb debug mode, I`ll go back & it will be un-checked again. Possibly this setting is not staying set & cancelling the rooting attempts . . . ? ? ? I`ll try again. Weird. Thanks for the help (again) !!!!

That is odd. Perhaps reboot, or battery pull, then check the box again and see if it stays checked

Good idea. I`ll try that as well as removing the sim card. The sim card removal bailed me on a weird issue on my phone, where it would not connect to the pc. The pc wouldn`t detect the device on connection, & the "connected as a media device" message would not appear on the phone`s screen. The fix was removal & re-installation of the sim (& external sd) cards. Good idea Mike ! I`ll try it & let you kno if it flies after that . . .

I don`t understand why It was such a bear with this phone/Jellybean rom. Anyway, I got it. Now, I`m attempting to browse the phone`s files to find the boot animation files, in attempt to add sound to my custom boot animation. I`ll post back when I find anything out . . .
