Help Verizon Note 4 - Need account advice

Hello there, I'm in a strange pickle with my (now old phone account). Long story but my mothers boy friend has changed our verizon account password, reset the ability to get onto the account at all, and cut both mine and my wife's lines. He has made a deal with Verizon to pay for the early term fee over a period of months, Dec 2016 to be exact. Now I purchased the phones, and I have hard proof that I've always paid my bill on time and in full, we had a disagreement and he has a hold on my mother like no other.

My question is, the service will be shut off today so I haven't had time to see what happens but will I be able to sell this phone? With the "extended termination contract" are my current phones locked down and esn considered dirty until Dec 2016?? And if so, are there places to clean such esns, remember these arnt considered stolen, the service is just suspended or cut.

Thanks in advance, I got new notes and I'll deal with $s#t head later but I need a good return value (paid $200 a piece on black friday)

1st question, who was the Primary name listed as the Account Holder? if it was not you, sorry charlie.
if however, you are the primary named account holder, and you can prove that by knowing the original passwords, then you have a chance to upset his apple cart.

You are going to have to call Verizon Customer Support and plead your case...
your 1st mistake was to allow him to have access to the Verizon Account in the first place. I will assume here that the password was not installed, and he put a password on the account....
I never let anyone know my passwords, I save them in LastPass.

If your phone was indeed "Paid off" and not on contract, then you can sell it. However, if it was still on a contract, you are stuck.... no deal. sorry.

My passwords are my own, and only shared with my wife. My mother was the primary on the account but my wife and I have had a seperate account (this agreement stemmed from the grandfathered unlimited data back in the day). This guy basically got my mother to over ride my account, I got text notice but it was done before I could do anything. I was always listed as a "authorized user".

When I meant I paid for the phone, I paid the promotional cost with a 2 year plan for both, not retail, I can't even talk to verizon about it and they can't say anything if I did get through.

She doesn't want this to happen but this is a situation I have to tread lightly with, it is abusive in nature. Reason I say, from what a sales rep for verizon told me she is still intitled to the phones even though I paid the monthly cost and phone cost up front, but that's one thing she mentioned she won't do, come after the phones.

Like I said I have two new notes waiting for me, just need to decide on a plan. This guy will get his, I just wish he didn't envolve my family in the process.

So there's no hope for the esn?

unfortunately, as an Authorized User, you have no privileges to change the account, IF you do not currently have the password codes. Family problems are a real mess, just ask any LEO that has to go knocking on the door of a severe family feud involving knives or weapons of any kind. The LEO "friend" turns into an "enemy" the instant the handcuffs come out and get applied to the abusing family member.

Until the Fees are paid off on that ESN, it cannot be reassigned according to what I know from many conversations with VZW CS folks. I had to cut off some extended "ex" family users 2 years ago and they were going to cause me "harm to my body" if I cut them off.... well, #1 here was paying the bill, and the only thing I was interested in was stopping the outrageous monthly phone charges. I turned them all off. I never got the phones back either.

in a way, the exact thing that has happened to you. The device you have in your pocket with the locked ESN is useless until the fees are paid off. By then, it will be "out of date" probably and you will have moved on.

Best advice is to just shrug it off, and get on with your life.
