Root [Verizon] Now I think I want to install a ROM!

I followed galaxis3root.com's procedure to root my new Verizon GSIII. He has a ROM for noobs that keeps the OEM in tact that I think I'd like to install. However, I've found no real step by step directions for installing the ROM. Here is a link to the ROM. I think since I'm total noob with regard to all this that this ROM would be good for me to start with.

It gets rid of some bloatware and gives me the main Jelly Bean stuff I'm interested in. Truthfully, If Jelly Bean would just hurry up and come out for this phone I might not even consider rooting or another ROM.

I'm not really into this stuff, I use the phone for my business which involves a lot of local travel and I depend on the phone for navigation, to be my virtual assistant while behind the wheel. So my main desire is for a better voice response app than SVoice or Skyvi which I've also tried. From what I've seen I think that the new Google product that is coming out with Jelly Bean may be what I'm hopping for.

So can anyone here help me with getting the ROM above installed and/or suggest another or something else altogether that would be as good or better for a noob that might get me what I'm looking for.

The link you posted has instructions. Additionally, there are instructions in the sticky in this forum (just use your custom ROM instead of the rooted stock ROM).

I'm feeling like I must be blind, because the only instructions I see say the following-

If you are coming from a stock ROM, you don
 
Further down is a FAQ link that has all instructions (I know, not the most intuitive or organised but its there)
 
FWIW - I've been rooted since last January and one thing I always try to do when flashing a new ROM or anything that requires making changes to my device is that I'm not attempting it when I should be going to bed! I've spent a few attempts staying up waaaay past my bedtime and getting frustrated or otherwise lame-brained simply bc of being late...:) I find that most of this is really not that difficult and all ROM's I've dealt with always come with instructions. Just read them, read them again, and if necessary re-read them! The best advice I can offer tho - ALWAYS MAKE A ANDROID just prior to flashing the new ROM! Best to you :D
 
Thanks for all the replies. Now I'm having another issue. I'm following the directions found at How to Install Custom ROM on Verizon Galaxy S3! [KEXEC] | Galaxy S3 Root

The problem is I've installed EZ Recovery for Galaxy S3 as he says its the easiest way to get install a ROM. However, for some reason part of app page is getting cutting off on my GS3 and it will not allow me to scroll down to see the missing parts of the page.

As you can see in the image everything below "Hybrid: Invisblek v2 Kernal is hidden. Is there something I need to fix on the phone so it will show the whole page like in the second screen shot from the Google Play Store

Thanks for pointing out that it is the font. Though it was actually the size of the font.

As for why am I using KEXEC, I simply followed a link on that website that said using EZ Recovery for GS3 is easier than the other method he was showing. It took me to that page. Is there some reason why I shouldn't use KEXEC?

By the way, would another ROM be just as good or easier to install for someone like me who doesn't want to lose all the factory stuff yet. The website that this ROM is on said that some of the other ROMs are so good for a noob like me to start with? So I've been kind of taking his advise since I don't really know or understand all this technical stuff. I'm not very technical, but I normally do not have nearly as much difficulty following direction as I'm having with this.

The only reason I'm still at it is I happen to be home sick with a bad case of bronchitis waiting for the antibiotics my doctor prescribed to do their job and don't have anything better to do. At least this gives me something to do that if I hopefully finally get it done will make my phone better.:smokingsomb:
 
You may want to run stock (rooted) for a while to get a baseline of the phones features/performance before trying a custom ROM. I'm not sure what a ROM "good for a newb" is--pick one that appeals to you and even try several. Explore and experiment, lest you go from newb to noob; you can always put the phone in download mode and Odin flash it back to stock.

KEXEC was a workaround for the locked bootloader; since it can now be unlocked, it is no longer necessary or desired. I'm guessing you were looking at an old/outdated custom ROM.

Personally, I like all the TouchWiz features except the launcher, which can be replaced (i.e. Nova) without a custom ROM.

Rolo42- You are awesome man!

I've now gotten CleanRom installed. I'm not sure what my issues with HighonAndroid Rom were, but CleanRom loaded easily and its running on my phone. Now I'm in the process of restoring everything with Titanium Backup.
