Verizon phone question

First off, i moved this thread into the Verizon forum :)

Next off, yes you can use your device even if it isn't activated on Verizon, you do not need to root it or anything, if the device uses 4G however, be careful to never turn it on because it might accidentally register the device back to your account, however, as far as i know the device won't even receive signal so the only thing you could use it for is a Wifi device.

Thank you for moving this to the correct place and for the fast reply. I do however have a another question now. You said I should be able to use it as a wifi only device (which is fine). I can't get it to the home screen, as soon as it starts up it say- touch the android to begin. Upon doing that it wants to go into the activation process.

You can get around that by touching the 4 corners of the screen one at a time. The activation is just to set up the phone. If you don't have a service plan for that specific phone you will not get Verizon service. I use my old droid all the time on just wifi without an issue.

I use my old phone for the kids to play with. I can still download games and everything from Google play

Also, I know when I activated my S3, as soon as it booted and wanted to activate, there was a button that would skip the activation and send you to the home screen which said something like "Skip" or "Activate later".
