Verizon Phone

As of today which Verizon Phone?
  1. Droid X
  2. HTC Incredible
  3. Droid 2
  4. Fascinate

Criteria basically is updates, customize-ability, ease of rooting, touchscreen responsiveness and usability in the sun. Battery life is important but not the endall
Not looking at the Thunderbolt b.c.
  • Don't need 4G
  • Don't like 1st Gen
  • Size (though I recognize the need for large phones to accomodate the 4G radio) I just want the thing to fit comfortably in my pocket and suit jacket w/out bulging
Though I could be persuaded as it seems like locking in the 4G price now is a good idea.

Just based off your updates criteria, stay away from Samsung phones. They are EXTREMELY slow about updating. Some of he Galaxy S series of phones are still running Eclair (Android 2.1), while the current version most phones have is FroYo (2.2) and Gingerbread (2.3) is getting ready to start rolling out. Only Samsung phone that will probably stay up to date is the Nexus S.

Anyways, I voted Droid X, I really love mine. The Droid Incredible is also a nice phone, and has an unlocked bootloader, which means you would have more options for ROM flashing if you root. But it has a smaller screen, which was something you wanted to think about.
