Verizon Pre-Order question

Android Expert
Does anyone know if I can pre-order the S4 on Verizon, pay full price without renewing my contract, all while using the new 12 month payment plan, instead of paying it all up front?

When I pre-ordered mine, the 12 month payment option was not an option. At least online. Maybe if you call in.

Yeah.....@#$%....I went in to Verizon and asked them and they said no. Still, I'm seriously considering just buying it with some money down when it comes out in the store, using the payment plan, then selling my Razr HD to help pay it off. I wonder what they go for.....

Verizon is a mess...They steal ideas like this from other carriers but don't implement it right.

Remember "Bring any device" program? Where is that now?

Verizon has been tossing this idea around for a while, but it only is for people who are up for an upgrade, no early upgrade using this, and it is for currently available phones, no preorders.

There are other restrictions as well.

1. You have to be in good standing with VZW (No disconnects in last year, and have no current late balance.

2. Credit Card must be attached to your VZW account.

3. Semi-Credit Check (they check to see if you have any severe bad marks like judgements or the such).

4. You must be due for an upgrade, even though this isn't an upgrade, you must be due for one to get this deal. This was told to me by 8 different VZW reps I talked with both phone CSR and in store CSR.

5. You can only do this with 2 phones at one time, so if you want to pay our that third phone on the account, must finish paying off one of the other two before you can start a payment plan on the third.

From what I understand this plan wasn't supposed to come out until Q4 this year, they only pushed it out now because the threat of unlimited users claiming to jump ship has affected them more than they thought. This new plan allows those on unlimited to get a new phone when due for upgrade, without loosing unlimited.

Rumor has it that since AT&T has mentioned a new unlimited plan in the works, VZW might follow suit and bring it back, but I bet this one will be $99 instead of the old $30.
