Root [Verizon] push rom backups from PC to phone

This should be simple however I've not found the answer:

I've got a bunch of rom backups on my PC that I downloaded from the phone using Rom Manager's backup server. That's easy enough.

But if I want to push those backups back to the phone so as to Restore them (with CWM or whatever) how is that done? Can I just copy the files to somewhere on the SD card and tell the recovery manager "restore this from here?

Depending on which recovery you saved them with, you should be able to copy those files in the respective folders be it CWM or TWRP. Both recoveries are good at creating their own folders when you make a backup so if you have issues copying the files in, let us know.
