Root [Verizon] Quick question about using casual to root

Hey all, I just have a quick question. I've come to the decision that if my phone tries to force the 4.3 update on me, I'll root, probably by using casual since I know I'll somehow mess something up if I use the Odin method.

My question is: has anyone here ever used casual to root/unlock their bootloader? Also, what are the chances of bricking my phone in some way by using casual?

I'm on 4.1.2 right now, and don't really want any of the mess that comes with 4.3
 
I rooted on 4.1.2 with casual. I can't say there are no risks but everything went smooth for Me and it seemed pretty safe. And it didn't trip my flash counter ether . :) I'm on cm10.2 (4.3) and I love it. I have custom recovery and nothing has tripped my counter. (Not really sure what does beside odin tbh lol)
 
Cool, thanks for the encouragement. I do just have one more quick question though... I know I have to back up my imei, but I read somewhere that there a couple more things that I should back up at the same time (I can't remember where I read it, but one had to do with downloading an app to backup a certain folder in case my current one gets corrupted). Does anyone by any chance know what the other things are?
 
I think I got things a bit mixed around. I think I found out what wise I was thinking of (probably qpst). Is the qpst method still recommended, or has the nvbackup method made that completely obsolete?
 
Yeah, I just wasn't sure if the qpst method was still recommended since the newer methods of backing up the imei and efs have come out. I assume that it's somewhat obsolete since it's from back in 2012. Thanks for all the help!
