Verizon Rep says No Passion till March

So I went to the local VZ (actually it was a affiliate store, not a corporate) store a bit after Droid launched. All out. Talked to the guy a bit and asked him a few questions and asked what he knew about the Passion. He said he did not know anything about any other phones coming out any time soon for VZ that were Android based and that "he was really aware of all the rumors and information of the web." I did not put much stock in him myself as there was plenty of rumor flying around and I figured he was just trying to look informed.

Today I went in, (I wanted to see a real Moto Droid, not the dummy brick on display). He remembered me and told me that he had seen some stuff on the Passion and that it was coming out to VZ but not till March as he had seen the roadmap of the new releases and that it was scheduled then. He was hard pressing me to walk out with a Moto Droid then and there (I did not, not yet). I am 90% sure he was just putting me off something that might keep money in my pocket today and out of his store.

Opinions, just a slick salesman trying to separate me from my money early? Or someone that might have had a bit of actual info?

I was at a VZ store last week and asked this chick working there if she knew anything about the Passion. She looked around to see if her manager was there, then told me they plan to release at least 1, if not 2 more droid phones by the end of this year. She didn't say the Passion specifically, just "android phones". I honestly don't think anybody truly knows yet. There's at least 1, if not more, VZW on this board. I'm sure if they hear anything, they'd let us know.

I had a rep friend tell me Late Nov,Early Dec. so it sounds like this fella wanted you to drop your cash today in his store and he tried to discourage you from waiting a few more weeks for the phone you really want.

The only thing the reps know is what they read on BGR, Phone Scoop, Phone Arena, Android Central, Crackberry, etc.. employee's do not get any super secret inside scoop no matter what they tell you.
