Root [Verizon] Root Verizon S3 running 4.4.2

I would like to root my Verizon S3 running 4.4.2 but the rooting instructions I have found either do not apply to my OS or the directions have broken links.

So I would appreciate it if you could provide me a link or directions to root my phone.


PS: What is also the advantage to unlocking the Bootloader?

You could try TowelRoot if your kernel has a build date before June 3rd, 2014

And unlocking the bootloader will allow you to flash a recovery such as CWM or TWRP.
As of now the bootloader is locked and no solution found to unlock it.

I believe the only recovery for the Verizon model is safestrap, but even with that, there are a limited number of roms that can be flashed. (not sure exactly which ones, I'd have to look into that )

I have actually used towelroot and then SuperSU and it is now working fine.

Now that I am rooted what other suggestions for apps do you have me which whill improve performance, battery or other issues?
