Verizon SIM Card -- Number/Name Capacity?

I'm attempting to copy the names/numbers from an old SIM card to a new SIM card....
May i ask what is the typical SIM card capacity for a modern/recent 4G LTE phone on the Verizon network? I'm using a SIM card reader and see 100 spots only, while my old 3G smartphone from a different wireless company has 250 spots and I have 123 names/numbers in the old SIM card. Is 100 it? Or do they have different banks/sections in the SIM card now or wider/more fields now? Or should I be running back to the store to ask what's up with this 100 max...? Help! I'm trying not to unfriend anyone on my list but I will have to if this 100 is it... :) (most are business contacts)
Thanks.

edit: or set me straight.... like don't save any names/numbers on the SIM card(?) i'm a newbie:)

If you're using android phone it's easy to transfer contacts and you can have as much as you want. Your contacts are already saved in your google account, if you go and visit your gmail and check the contacts you'll see that all contact are there. After first sync on your new phone all your contacts will be retrieved. That's how it works for me. No need for use SIM card space here.

Thanks for the info. I actually signed up for gmail just to keep this phone happy because I have too many other email accounts already. I then got gmail to import the CSV file. Then the contacts got transfered into the phone's memory via the gmail cloud thing (will not be using the SIM memory anymore moving forward). But somehow the display on the phone has some names truncated ... probably the way i mis-entered it. In the end I deleted all these names/contacts from gmail (and gmail automatically took it off the phone too). Now I use a USB cable with the HTC Sync software, modified/edited the names (nobody gets a middle name anymore, only first and last) and got the phone to nicely read/sync it from this new/fake Outlook account. This Outlook account holds only the names/numbers that I want on the phone. (I didn't dare to sync to my other Outlook accounts or it'll be a huge mess:)) Thanks.
