Verizon Vireless To Sell Spectrum If...

They are trying to get the cable deal to go thru by saying "Oh well if you let this pass we will sell some spectrum to other companies" it would allow a greater range of coverage for whatever telecom purchased it. They are of course keeping C block since that is what VZW LTE is based on. IMO they are showing they purchased A and B block as barganing chips not to actually use them...

Heck, they're doing exactly what I would do had I had $9.4 BILLION to invest and had a large wireless network with which to use it. If the FCC thinks that Verizon is trying to do something they shouldn't, all they have tot do is reject the cable deal.

You've all heard it before.... Friendship is friendship but business is business. :)

True but this gives the FCC incentive to pass the cable deal. I don't blame VZW at all for what they are doing.

I think Verizon did this to calm T-Mobile down since they were one of the first to oppose this deal. I wonder if T-Mobile does try to buy up these blocks do they have the funds to actually put it to use? Or will Sprint put in a bid for this spectrum that they once were part of the group that owned it?
